Northwood House Estate & History tour
On Monday May 13th, 21 intrepid historians and walkers joined Isle of Wight historian Tim Wander for his now famous Northwood House and estate tour- which thanks to the church volunteers also included a chance to visit inside the amazing St Mary’s church.

Its very much a walk, stop and talk tour, but from war memorials to ice house, gravestone for Lt John Sutton shot in a duel in 1817
through over 280 years of Northwood, Cowes and Island history the stories never stop coming.

Highlight was probably a guided tour through the huge cellars with their history from wine storage, servants tunnels, Spanish flu and air raid shelters – the 2.5 hour tour quickly became 3 and a bit. Aided by tea, coffee and biscuits
The walk raised £185 in voluntary donations for the Northwood House Charitable Trust.
