A circular walk along lanes, through countryside and beside the Medina River exploring some of Whippingham’s historical past, especially the association with Queen Victoria. Whippingham was her Island Village.
This walk will follow a moderate pace.
Varying landscape with some more challenging slopes. Stiles and steps to be expected en route, suitable for keen walkers and anyone who is reasonably active.
Walkers need to be reasonably agile and mobile. Not suitable for walkers with mobility impairment of any kind.
The walk will include a tour of the churchyard looking at graves associated with Queen Victoria. Refreshments are available at the Church Hall, (Monday to Thursday) There is also an East Cowes to Whippingham walk looking at buildings in East Cowes associated with Queen Victoria.
