Admire Shanklin’s panoramic coastal views, Chine, Old Village and hills whilst discovering its volunteer community aspect, all with a hint of history. Refreshments will be provided at the Victorian Shanklin Theatre, one of the town’s greatest volunteering success stories.
This walk will follow a moderate pace.
Gentle, rolling landscape, walking on paths with good to average surfaces. Some walking on gentle inclines, some stiles or steps to be expected en route.
Suitable for a person with sufficient mobility to climb a flight of stairs.
The walk will be narrated at specific points to highlight volunteer work and key historic facts. A stop is planned at Shanklin Theatre where a brief talk will be given about its history and refreshments will be provided (hot drinks/soft drinks and cakes).
