Week 2 Walks
10th to 17th May 2020
A circular walk from Freshwater mainly on footpaths with stunning views of both the Downs and the Western Solent.
Stroll about Gurnard and Cowes, and find out about the history of the area.
A new circular walk connecting to the Yar River Trail near Alverstone. Follow part of Scotchells Brook through America Wood and across the airport. Visit a community orchard and a red squirrel hide. Return over the golf course and along the Old Highway.
Anecdotal circular walk to visit the site of the legendary 1970 Isle of Wight Festival at Afton, 50 years on. Returning to Dimbola Lodge to view the permanent Festival exhibition (and to “experience” the award-winning tea room…!).
A picturesque ramble through fields and along paths which may have been trodden by the 17th century scientist Robert Hooke.
The Isle of Wight is great for walking all year round. With peaceful countryside and stunning coastal views there is a route for everyone. Whether you want to explore on your own and see where the mood takes you or use one of our many suggested itineraries we have something to suit.
